Because Regulated People Create Regulated Places.

Welcome to SynergySEL: Elevating Social-Emotional and Social Impact Learning in Schools

Schools don’t rise or fall on academics first — they rise or fall on regulation. When students and staff feel emotionally safe, they learn, connect, and contribute. When they don’t, even the best instructional strategies collapse under dysregulation and emotional overload.

SynergySEL was built to solve that gap by creating a whole-school nervous system — a live ecosystem where students, staff, and families all share a common language for state, need, and recovery. Through visible zone tools, real-time regulation practices, restorative games, and companion journals, regulation becomes not just taught, but lived in daily routines.

This model aligns every stakeholder — students, teachers, administrators, and parents — into one unified climate system where emotional safety is practiced together. Instead of isolated SEL lessons, SynergySEL creates a regulating environment, not just a regulating moment.

Our Mission: To create emotionally safe schools by teaching regulation as a shared culture, not a private coping skill.

Our Vision: A future where every learner — child or adult — knows how to return to calm, connect with support, and lead from a regulated state.

Our programs help students build emotional resilience, develop leadership skills, and navigate challenges with confidence. We go beyond traditional SEL by incorporating Social Impact Learning, where students not only address their personal growth but also channel their experiences, including their pain, into creating positive change.

Through entrepreneurship initiatives and other social impact projects, students learn how to transform obstacles into opportunities, harnessing their inner strength and creativity to make a difference in their communities. These programs give students the foundation to not only succeed academically but also to thrive emotionally, socially, and as future leaders who are committed to making a meaningful impact in the world.

Whether it's through collaborative projects, real-world problem solving, or personal reflection, our afterschool programs are designed to foster a growth mindset and inspire students to become both self-aware and socially responsible leaders.

    • Mindfulness and Stress Management Programs: Techniques for students and staff to manage stress and improve focus.

    • Community Engagement Initiatives: Programs to involve the broader community in SEL efforts, including partnerships with local organizations.

Testimonials

Case Studies

For three years, PROPEL hosted an afterschool program that impacted over 100 students at Briarwood Elementary. This program consistently saw more than 30 students attending weekly. During these sessions, students learned about social-emotional struggles and were equipped with essential tools to manage them. The program witnessed a significant decrease in behavioral problems among Briarwood’s high flyers and fostered a strong commitment in students to pursue their dreams and goals. Make Lemonade!

At Briarwood, PROPEL sparked an entrepreneurial initiative called "Make Lemonade," blending social-emotional learning with community impact. Inspired by the phrase "When life throws you lemons, make lemonade," students created their own lemonade business. The proceeds supported the Briarwood community, fostering collective efforts and social responsibility. With the help of his friends, Mr. Eze created a music video to help push this message further. This project encouraged creativity, resilience, and entrepreneurship among the students, empowering them to turn challenges into opportunities.

Finding Purpose.

PROPEL has also utilized entrepreneurship and purpose discovery as tools to help students cope with social-emotional struggles. We have helped over 15 middle and high school students create purpose projects, allowing them to focus on fulfillment rather than their struggles. By helping students uncover and create purpose projects, such as a clothing brand or YouTube channel, we have observed significant improvements in their ability to cope with life's challenges.

Social Emotional Journals.

PROPEL has also developed social-emotional journals and culture projects for over 100 middle and high school students at VCCS, embedding these resources into the school culture. Students practice gratitude, reflect on their health and well-being, and engage in prompts and tailored activities designed to help them overcome challenges. We have observed that these journals significantly aid students in navigating their struggles throughout the school year, fostering a supportive and resilient school culture.

Eze Says Social Emotional Curriculum.

Coach Josh, co-founder of PROPEL, authored "Eze Says," a book designed to help students discover and pursue their passions early in life, empowering them to navigate life's challenges with purpose. This book also provides valuable social-emotional insights to help students understand their emotions and potential threats to their well-being and purpose. "Eze Says" has been instrumental in PROPEL's mentoring programs, greatly impacting students who have found it insightful and beneficial.
