Because Regulated People Create Regulated Places.

Schools don’t rise or fall on academics first — they rise or fall on regulation. When students and staff feel emotionally safe, they learn, connect, and contribute. When they don’t, even the best instructional strategies collapse under dysregulation and emotional overload.

SynergySEL was built to solve that gap by creating a whole-school nervous system — a live ecosystem where students, staff, and families all share a common language for state, need, and recovery. Through visible zone tools, real-time regulation practices, restorative games, and companion journals, regulation becomes not just taught, but lived in daily routines.

This model aligns every stakeholder — students, teachers, administrators, and parents — into one unified climate system where emotional safety is practiced together. Instead of isolated SEL lessons, SynergySEL creates a regulating environment, not just a regulating moment.

Our Mission: To create emotionally safe schools by teaching regulation as a shared culture, not a private coping skill.

Our Vision: A future where every learner — child or adult — knows how to return to calm, connect with support, and lead from a regulated state.

Welcome to SynergySEL: Elevating Social-Emotional and Social Impact Learning in Schools

What We Offer

SynergySEL partners with schools to build a climate that supports regulation at every level of the community. Instead of one-time training, we walk alongside your leadership team to design a system that fits your campus culture, strengthens staff capacity, and embeds consistent practices that help students return to readiness faster. Our role is to equip your school with the tools, structure, and guidance needed to create a safe and sustainable learning environment.

  • Live Zone System™

A schoolwide visual regulation system that allows students and staff to show their nervous system state in real time, reducing escalation before it starts.

    Need Indicator System™

A companion tool that identifies what support a student needs (space, connection, quiet, etc.), eliminating guesswork and helping staff respond correctly.

    Reset Ritual Pathway™

The step-by-step re-regulation process that teaches students and staff how to come back to readiness using consistent, trauma-informed routines.

    Throne Identity System™

The student leadership and identity development model that trains learners to lead from regulation and purpose, especially in the Purple Zone.

  • EMO Journal™ (Staff Edition)

A guided regulation and reflection tool that helps educators track their nervous system patterns and reduce burnout through emotional fluency.

    Staff Regulation Training

Professional development that equips adults with co-regulation skills so emotional safety begins with leadership, not only student behavior.

    Administrator Climate Coaching

One-on-one or leadership team coaching to embed the system into buildings, discipline workflow, MTSS alignment, and restorative culture.

    Implementation Fidelity Toolkit

A structured walkthrough + coaching set that ensures the system sustains beyond “launch week” and becomes part of school culture.

  • EMO™ Card Game (Student SEL)

A restorative emotional literacy game that helps students learn, identify, and regulate emotions in a playful, low-stakes environment.

    Facts Over Feels™ Game

A cognitive/emotional regulation game that pairs emotion awareness with real-time grounding or problem-solving (“factivity”) to hold the match.

    Lanyard Zone Cards (Student Edition)

Daily visible check-in tool for dysregulation prevention; teachers can read a student’s state without verbal escalation.

    Student Journals (Simple Reflection)

Age-appropriate guided reflections that reinforce emotional language and teach habit loops of calm → choice → connection.

  • SynergySEL Parent Playbook™

A home-based extension that helps families understand zone language and use the same regulation tools at home for consistency.

    Family Workshops / Culture Nights

Live or virtual trainings that align caregivers with school climate goals, reducing home → school emotional disconnect.

A Tier 2 empowerment track where regulated students become peer leaders/ambassadors who help model and spread regulation culture across campus.

    Leadership Badging System

Students earn identity + regulation skill milestones that align with the Throne Identity System™, reinforcing purpose and belonging.

    SynergySIL

In partnership with SynergySIL (Social Impact Learning), students who demonstrate growth in regulation and self-awareness are also given opportunities to develop their gifts, creativity, and leadership voice. Through entrepreneurship, problem-solving, peer support, and purpose-based mentoring, SynergySEL helps students move from “regulated” to “activated” — using their strengths to positively influence the school community. This ensures our leadership pipeline is not just emotional, but meaningful and impact-driven.

  • School Climate Installation

Turnkey rollout of SynergySEL tools, language, and routines across a school building with leadership support.

    District Licensing & Certification

Multi-school expansion model that trains internal SEL leads to sustain the system without external dependency.

    Train-the-Trainer Model

Advanced professional pathway where districts become certified to implement SynergySEL across multiple campuses.

Why Choose SynergySEL?

SynergySEL gives schools a way to make emotional safety visible, predictable, and shared. Instead of relying on guesswork or individual strategies, SynergySEL installs a consistent system that helps every person in the building communicate their state, express what they need, and return to readiness with support. It strengthens staff capacity, reduces emotional overload in classrooms, and creates a culture where regulation is practiced together — not carried alone. By aligning students, staff, and families in one unified framework, SynergySEL helps schools build the climate they want, not just respond to the one they have.

Meet the Founder Mr. Eze

Joshua Eze has spent the last decade serving school communities through emotional development, student leadership, and culture building across both public and private education. He began his work in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools as a Behavior Management Technician at Briarwood Elementary, where his passion for emotional safety and climate transformation first took shape. He later served as Dean of Students and SEL Coach at Victory Christian Center School — the very school he once attended as a student — where he helped create restorative practices, student leadership pipelines, and campus-wide behavior culture shifts.

Joshua is also an author, curriculum and resource developer, entrepreneur, and certified life coach, uniquely positioned at the intersection of school climate, emotional development, and purpose-based leadership. His work combines SEL (Social-Emotional Learning) with SIL (Social Impact Learning), helping students not only regulate their emotions, but recognize and activate their gifts as contributors to their campus culture.

What drives his work is a simple conviction:

Schools don’t just need more programs — they need systems that build emotionally safe people.

Through SynergySEL™, Joshua’s mission is to help districts install scalable regulation ecosystems that reduce dysregulation, increase instructional time, strengthen staff wellbeing, and activate student leadership from the inside out. His long-term vision is to equip campuses nationwide with tools and frameworks that make regulation not an intervention — but a way of being..

SynergySEL™ Games are a collection of powerful, research-aligned SEL card games designed to help students, staff, and families build emotional vocabulary, practice regulation, and strengthen relationships through play. Each game teaches social-emotional skills in a fun, fast, and practical way — whether it’s recognizing emotions, separating facts from feelings, resolving conflict, or creating work-life harmony. SynergySEL™ makes SEL accessible, engaging, and instantly usable in classrooms, homes, and workplaces.

GAMES

  • EMO™ — The EMO Card Game

EMO™ — The EMO Card Game takes players beyond quick emotional recognition into true emotional mastery. Built for deeper SEL work, each card contains a definition, scenario, regulation strategy, and reflection prompt that encourages players to think, feel, share, and grow. Students learn to identify complex emotions, unpack the “why” behind them, and choose healthy responses. Staff can also use it as a coaching or reflection tool to model regulation.

Ideal For: SEL classrooms, school counselors, mental health teams, PD sessions, therapeutic groups, and families wanting deeper emotional conversations.

  • EMO FAST™

EMO FAST™ is a fast-paced, UNO-style SEL game that teaches emotional awareness through play. Players match colors and emotions, respond to real-life prompts, and navigate special disruptor cards like Mood Swing, Trigger, and Shutdown — each designed to help students practice staying regulated even when the game shifts unexpectedly. With every round, students strengthen emotional vocabulary, self-control, peer understanding, and resilience.

Ideal For: Schools, after-school programs, counselors, youth groups, and families.

  • Facts Over Feels™

Facts Over Feels™ is an SEL matching and critical-thinking card game where students learn to separate emotional reactions from what is actually true. Players search for emotional “matches,” but each match can only be kept if they complete the Factivity on the second card — identifying the fact, the feeling, and choosing the healthiest response.

The game helps students strengthen emotional clarity, self-awareness, logical reasoning, and conflict-resolution skills by teaching them how to slow down, name what’s real, and respond instead of react. It’s engaging, competitive, and deeply practical for everyday situations.

Ages: 9+ • Perfect for upper elementary, middle school, high school, counseling groups, and even adults.

  • Regulate & Relate™ Staff Deck

The Regulate & Relate™ Staff Deck is built for educators and staff who need rapid, practical regulation tools during the school day. Cards include breathing techniques, grounding skills, mindset resets, and quick relational responses for students. It supports staff well-being while helping them model regulation for students.
Ages: Adult • Perfect for teachers, school staff, counselors, and administrators.

  • Regulate & Relate™ Family Deck

The Regulate & Relate™ Family Deck helps families practice emotional regulation, communication, and connection in minutes a day. Each card teaches a quick regulation tool, a conversation prompt, or a relational repair strategy that families can use immediately. It turns emotional moments into opportunities to connect instead of disconnect.
Ages: 5+ • Ideal for families, parent groups, therapists, and at-home SEL practice.

  • The Harmony Card Game™

The Harmony Card Game™ helps staff build work–life harmony through interactive challenges, mindset cards, and personal reflections. Players collect the letters of H-A-R-M-O-N-Y while completing small activities that reduce burnout, increase balance, and strengthen emotional resilience. It can be played competitively or reflectively, making it useful for PD days, wellness rooms, or staff team-builders.
Ages: Adult • Ideal for educators, corporate teams, counselors, and wellness programs.

Testimonials

Case Studies

For three years, PROPEL (Now SysnergySEL) hosted an afterschool program that impacted over 100 students at Briarwood Elementary. This program consistently saw more than 30 students attending weekly. During these sessions, students learned about social-emotional struggles and were equipped with essential tools to manage them. The program witnessed a significant decrease in behavioral problems among Briarwood’s high flyers and fostered a strong commitment in students to pursue their dreams and goals. Make Lemonade!

At Briarwood, PROPEL sparked an entrepreneurial initiative called "Make Lemonade," blending social-emotional learning with community impact. Inspired by the phrase "When life throws you lemons, make lemonade," students created their own lemonade business. The proceeds supported the Briarwood community, fostering collective efforts and social responsibility. With the help of his friends, Mr. Eze created a music video to help push this message further. This project encouraged creativity, resilience, and entrepreneurship among the students, empowering them to turn challenges into opportunities.

Finding Purpose.

SynergySEL has also utilized entrepreneurship and purpose discovery as tools to help students cope with social-emotional struggles. We have helped over 15 middle and high school students create purpose projects, allowing them to focus on fulfillment rather than their struggles. By helping students uncover and create purpose projects, such as a clothing brand or YouTube channel, we have observed significant improvements in their ability to cope with life's challenges.

Social Emotional Journals.

PROPEL has also developed social-emotional journals and culture projects for over 100 middle and high school students at VCCS, embedding these resources into the school culture. Students practice gratitude, reflect on their health and well-being, and engage in prompts and tailored activities designed to help them overcome challenges. We have observed that these journals significantly aid students in navigating their struggles throughout the school year, fostering a supportive and resilient school culture.

Eze Says Social Emotional Curriculum.

Coach Josh, co-founder of PROPEL, authored "Eze Says," a book designed to help students discover and pursue their passions early in life, empowering them to navigate life's challenges with purpose. This book also provides valuable social-emotional insights to help students understand their emotions and potential threats to their well-being and purpose. "Eze Says" has been instrumental in PROPEL's mentoring programs, greatly impacting students who have found it insightful and beneficial.
